64' Grand Banks Trawler Paikea II Refit Progress Update!
Each refit project is its own new beginning, promising the potential of enjoyment with family and friends and future memories to be made. That’s exactly what our client for the 64’ Grand Banks Trawler Paikea II refit project has in mind.
Rather than purchasing a new boat, this owner has decided to undertake an extensive refit on his beloved current yacht to both update the look and create a functional space that will suit his young family. This project is significant in scope, as our plans include transforming the guest accommodations, removing built-in furniture, incorporating functional outdoor entertainment and cooking areas and restoring the woodwork throughout.
The 64′ Grand Banks Paikea II was originally built with a midship study with a desk, a settee that could be used to sleep one person and a head with no shower. It was important for the owner to comfortably accomodate as many family members as possible. We are turning this midship study into a stateroom with two twin beds, one which will slide to create one larger bed and a full head with a shower. *Be sure to take a look at our previous progress post to see photos of this cabin conversion!
Paikea II is also being given a fresh, updated look. The yellowed teak is being toned in some areas to have a dark, rich mahogany look with other areas being painted in a contrasting bright white.
