It's Showtime...
Being exposed to the superyacht life, having basically grown up in the yachting industry, I have many fond memories of attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) over the years. From the days of attending the show with my father, a yacht broker, and being introduced to industry professionals, to working for prestigious yacht designers and gleaning ideas from the show, to opening my own firm and designing yachts that displayed at the show, FLIBS has always been an event close to my heart.
Despite hurricanes and economic downturns, in its 60-year existence the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has never been canceled. The event that brings close to $800 million in revenue to the state of Florida is largely responsible for Fort Lauderdaleโs reputation as the โYachting Capital of the World.โ This yearโs show will certainly look and feel different than in years past, but will still draw enthusiasts that love that superyacht life.
