85' Burger Checkers Refresh
Some projects are quick – very quick! For the 2001 Burger Boat Co. Checkers, we were commissioned to update the yacht in time for her appearance at the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show where she would be featured for sale. Her brokers at Worth Avenue Yachts contacted us to see if we could breathe some new life into this 85′ yacht…in a two-and-a-half-week turnaround!
Inspiration
In preparation for a chic and serene coastal summer and visualizing a vibe of barefoot luxury, an iconic Hamptons style was our inspiration for Checkers, bringing a subtle luxury, timeless elegance, and natural splendor!
Taking inspiration from America’s most elite seaside state-of-mind destination, we selected a color scheme from the Coastal landscapes that are the essence of the Hamptons. We used a subdued palette with a canvas of creamy white and ivory, various shades of beige, thoughtful touches of navy, and layers of these same colors, varying in intensity.
In keeping with the yacht’s new Hamptons-style theme we also commissioned various sailboat and coastal photography canvas prints to add visual interest throughout. We carefully removed and stored the yacht’s original artwork, which consisted of a few Picassos and other valuable works. We will preserve and store these for the current owner.ย
We kept accessory pieces to a minimum using refined, natural materials, some polished finishes, and only pieces that elevated natural materials to an upscale level in the end creating a harmonious, and charming natural scheme throughout.ย
Wood & Stone
The wood throughout the yacht was in poor condition, so we quickly addressed this and had it re-finished within the deadline. We also had the stone re-polished.
Carpet, Upholstery, Bedding, Art & Decor Throughout
We replaced all of the carpeting throughout and implemented new upholstery, all new bedding and accessories.

We have now turned the Staterooms into inviting and restorative retreats where the new owners and their guests can get tucked away into the new luxurious and dreamy bamboo cotton sateen bedding.
